After lengthy talks today in Saudi Arabia, Ukraine agreed to an immediate 30-day ceasefire

The US and Ukraine issued a joint statement, according to which Kiev agreed to Washington's proposal for an immediate 30-day ceasefire in the war with Russia. Russia has not yet given its response to the move.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio referred to Ukraine's agreement to an immediate ceasefire in order to discuss peace with Russia, saying it had taken a "positive step". According to him, "the ball is now in Russia's court."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the US for the capitalization. He said the proposal also refers to fighting on the frontline, and not just attacks from the air and sea.
